Installing Zen Cart(tm) on Tomcat

Zen Cart v1.39h installed very smoothly on Tomcat using Quercus for the PHP support.

After the install, some warnings appear at the top of the shopping cart screen. It's necessary to remove the install folder (as with most PHP software) and reset the permissions on the configure.php file. If you need help doing that on your Metawerx hosting account, please contact support.

Getting Started

• First, download and install Quercus, and make sure it's running properly. See Using PHP with Tomcat for how to do this.
• Next download and unzip Zen Cart from http://www.zen-cart.com/
• Upload the files to the folder you created when installing Quercus (example: zen)
• Access the application to start the installer, http://yoursite/zen
• The Zen Cart installer will ask you for the database connection details, and various other things relating to your new shop
• The installer will complete, after successfully attaching to the database
• Once the installer has completed, you can log in and start customising your new shopping site!

Other than that, it was a very simple installation (3-4 minutes).
